Mysteries Of Granular Planet[ ]

Mesoscopic states in a material are only 3 types considering the behaviour of granular medium which is self organizing in its own gravitational field. These states are namely hydrostatic, columnar, and arched mesoscopic states. Through this study , it turns out that pressure may be absent at the center of gravitating ball although it is known that pressure is noncompressible liquid or solid linear-elasitc medium maximal. In arched mesoscopic state, such uncommon stress takes place. Using Mohr-Coulomb condition it can be stated that arched state can embody when sinus of internal frictionfs angle increases up to threashold value 1/3. The granulating medium is liquid in the hydroscopic mesoscopic state. The study also shows transition between hydrostatic and non-hydrostatic stress which is sharp in the granular gravitating ball and opposes the results of linear theory of elasticity..

Optical measurements of thermotropic liquid crystals[ ]

This is an experimental work carried out using speckle interferometry to measure birefringence of liquid crystal material at different wavelengths in the visible region and refractive indices were also measured. Refractive index of the liquid crystals depends on temperature at certain wavelength in the isotropic and LC phases was investigated..

Effect of Electromagnetic Waves On The Growth of Snails [ ]

Light is of great importance to man, animals and plant. The growth of plants can not be accomplished without light. Man in himself can not do without light; even the nocturnal animal which tends to be active at night still need a considerable amount of light. It is of great importance to a physicist to know the actual component of light that will speed up the growth of snails (e.g. Archachatina Marginata).Hence, the need for this research work. For this project, the edible terrestrial snails have been used to perform the experiment. Measurement of volume of snails was done once in two weeks to give room to reasonable growth of snails. The experiment was carried out for sixteen (16) weeks.

Magnetic Permeability[ ]

The following paper is a review of property called magnetic permeability, absolute and relative permeability. Materials showing magnetic permeability, paramagnetic, diamagnetic, and ferromagnetic and its measurement. Application of magnetic permeability in various fields.
